Leaders of the Future
First stop on the Tour "The Door Of Opportunity."
Academy Director Kay Codish lays it out on the line.
"Here at the New Haven Police Training Academy, our doors are open to you. Treat others as you would want to be Treated!"
The New Haven Police Training Academy is Founded on the concept of
Community Based Policing. Academy Director Kay Codish shows the students an art project that was required by a previous Police Academy Class.
The art work is a composite of the various sides to a person who is faced
with the challenges of mental disorders.
Codish believes that in-order to optimize service to the public as a Police Officer, it is important that officer be exposed the the conditions that face the public.
